Garcia faced the Cubs once while with the Mariners, on June 8, 2002, allowing one run in eight innings. Only one Cub -- Corey Patterson, who led off and went 0-for-4 -- remains from that game.

Maddux has faced the White Sox twice in interleague play, both last year, with an ugly 8.68 ERA. He did get one win out of those two appearances, July 3, 2004 at Wrigley Field, when he allowed two runs in 5.1 IP.
