Open Thread: Cubs vs. Rockies, Sunday 5/29

I've already written, in yesterday's game post, of the importance of today's game, but repeating it wouldn't hurt:

Getting to .500 is an important psychological lift for any ballclub, especially going on the road, and particularly with a West Coast swing coming up this week.

Today's game is eminently winnable. Jeff Francis has never faced the Cubs; Sergio Mitre threw once against Colorado in 2004, allowing 3 ER in 6 IP (Quality Start! Quality Start!) and getting a no-decision.

Francis is a lefthander so expect Todd Walker to sit today. I don't agree with that decision, but that's what Dusty is doing these days.

Francis is Canadian. That doesn't have anything to do with anything, but I didn't have anything else to say about him, so I thought I'd mention it.
