Open Thread: Cubs vs. Brewers, Thursday 5/5

Today's gameday thread is being posted early for a couple of reasons; first, the game is at noon CT, almost baseball with breakfast, and second, I'm heading out in an hour or so to drive up there. I'll report this evening.

It's supposed to be a nice day in Milwaukee today, sunny and 65, so they may even open the roof.

I look at this pitcher matchup and shake my head. The Cubs cut Gary Glover last year in spring camp. Now he's in the Brewers' starting rotation and has one more win than Greg Maddux.

Speaking of rotations, it's been decided that Mark Prior will start tomorrow and Glendon Rusch will start Saturday (against Jon Lieber).

At least, until Dusty changes his mind again.

Finally, check out this article, which gives yet more reasons why it's such a shame the Cubs cut Dave Hansen at the end of spring training. Hansen was called up by the Mariners yesterday. Hmmm. Hansen or Jose Macias? You and I know the right answer to that. Too bad Cub management doesn't.
