Open Thread: Cubs vs. Brewers, Wednesday 6/22

Before the season started, when Kerry Wood and Mark Prior were both hurt, many of us thought that Carlos Zambrano would step up and become the #1 starter that he has the stuff to be.

He's had some very, very good starts this year -- and some bad ones, including last Friday at Yankee Stadium.

Time to step up again. The Cubs have a baby winning streak, and the Cardinals lost to the Reds again today 7-6, so the Cubs have a chance to pick up another game in the standings. Plus, they are only a game behind the Phillies for the wild-card lead at this writing.

Doug Davis is one of those goofy lefties who can be death on the Cubs. Dusty ought to stack the lineup with right-handed hitters tonight, and that includes benching Corey if necessary.
