I'm guessing this matchup looked a lot more promising to ESPN last month, when they booked it, than it does now.
|Today's Starting Pitchers|
Morris is 2-2 with a 5.52 ERA in his last five starts, and gave up six runs in six innings to the Cubs on July 23 in St. Louis, and in so doing also allowed homers to Jeromy Burnitz, Aramis Ramirez and Derrek Lee.
Prior pitched well in his last start against the Reds, allowing three runs in seven IP, with no walks and eleven strikeouts. The result was another depressing no-decision in a Cub loss. That has to be tremendously frustrating. The Cubs are 5-2 in Prior's seven no-decisions this season, thus 12-6 in his 18 total starts.
Thank heavens, the rain is out of the area. There'll be no delays or rainouts tonight.
