Open Thread: Cubs vs. Braves, Monday 8/22

The Cubs have, over the last two weeks, played far better against good teams (5-2 vs. the Cardinals and Astros) than against bad ones (2-4 vs. the Reds and Rockies).

So maybe we should be glad that the next two teams into Wrigley Field, the Braves and Marlins, are good ones.

It's Monday. It's a new week. There has been quite a bit of sniping on this site, and I'm going to call for it again to stop. Reasonable people can disagree and debate, without resorting to personal attacks.

Today's Starting Pitchers
Carlos Zambrano
C. Zambrano
Cubs
vs. Tim Hudson
T. Hudson
Braves
10-5 W-L 9-7
3.07 ERA 3.45
149 SO 83
69 BB 49
12 HR 11

Tim Hudson spent a month on the DL earlier this year, and isn't nearly the dominant pitcher he was from 2000-2003 with Oakland. It will be his first career appearance against the Cubs.

Z is coming off one of his best starts of the year, and his OPS is .673 (and that's with no walks). Corey Patterson's OPS is .644.

Discuss amongst yourselves.
