Open Thread: Cubs vs. Dodgers, Tuesday 8/30

New, 30 comments

There's a baseball game tonight at the corner of Clark & Addison in Chicago.

Today's Starting Pitchers
Mark Prior
M. Prior
Cubs
vs. Brad Penny
B. Penny
Dodgers
9-5 W-L 6-8
3.68 ERA 3.75
147 SO 102
45 BB 33
21 HR 14

Penny pitched a real nice game against the Cubs in LA on May 31, but the Cubs won in 10 innings 2-1. Befitting this year's Cub offense, the two runs scored on a groundout and a single by Neifi Perez.

Mark Prior is 2-0 lifetime against the Dodgers, with 3 BB and 23 K in 24 innings. Of course, that means almost nothing, because only one player on the current Dodger team -- Jeff Kent, 2-for-14 -- has more than eight career AB vs. Mark.

I'm going to have my brother-in-law, his wife, two of his sons and Mark in tow tonight. That ought to liven things up a bit.

Discuss amongst yourselves.
