Open Thread: Cubs vs. Mets, Friday 8/5

It's reverse psychology day here at BCB!

I saw Tom Glavine pitch twice this season while I was in New York on business.

He looked great in both starts -- allowing only one run in 14 IP, no walks, a win and a no-decision.

Glavine has 269 career wins. With one more, he'd tie Burleigh Grimes, the last legal spitballer, for 31st place on the all-time wins list.

I don't think I have to remind you what happened the last time the Cubs played at Shea Stadium, so I won't. (Click the links if you must.)
