Open Thread: Cubs vs. Reds, Monday 9/12

I realize it's very early in the morning for an open thread for a home night game, but there is a very good reason for this.

In about an hour I must report for jury duty at criminal court here in Chicago, so I'll be tied up all day.

That out of the way, let's get this back on topic. Dusty Baker says he might rearrange his rotation if necessary, to give Greg Maddux enough chances to get his fifteen wins this year.

Let's hope Maddux wins his next three starts to make this unnecessary.

Today's Starting Pitchers
Greg Maddux
G. Maddux
Cubs
vs. Aaton Harang
A. Harang
Reds
12-11 W-L 9-12
4.28 ERA 3.60
116 SO 146
32 BB 50
24 HR 16

Greg's only appearance against the Reds this year was only so-so, but he left the game with the lead; the loss was a bullpen failure.

Harang has beaten the Cubs twice in 2005, including his only CG of the season.

Harang is one of the worst-hitting pitchers ever; he has two hits in 63 at-bats this year for an .032 batting average, and his career average is .050. That includes 82 strikeouts in 141 career AB's and zero walks.
