Open Thread: Cubs vs. Cardinals, Friday 9/16

The Cardinals having (essentially, with tiebreakers) clinched the NL Central, perhaps they will show mercy and sit out some of their regulars today.

Today's Starting Pitchers
Glendon Rusch
G. Rusch
Cubs
vs. Matt Morris
M. Morris
Cardinals
6-8 W-L 14-8
4.62 ERA 4.04
99 SO 104
49 BB 30
11 HR 17

Morris is having a pretty good year, but the Cubs have beaten him like a tom-tom all three times he's faced them in 2005: 0-3, 8.62 ERA, six home runs in 15.2 IP.

That'd be nice to have again today.

Rusch threw well against the Cardinals in St. Louis, and then decently well in his last outing against the Giants, a no-decision in a game the Cubs eventually won.

At this moment it's cloudy, but it's supposed to clear by game time.

Discuss amongst yourselves.
