I'm guessing you guys (and girls) would really, really, REALLY like some baseball to talk about.
OK, here are some things to bat around (I even give you a baseball metaphor!) this afternoon:
- The minimum salary in 2006 jumps to $327,000 this year, due to a 3.5% "cost of living escalator" in the Basic Agreement. Yeah, like people who make that much money need to keep ahead of the cost of living.
- Alex Rodriguez has apparently changed his mind and will announce this week that he'll play for the USA in the World Baseball Classic.
- Spring training tickets go on sale tomorrow, Thursday, at 10 am CT.
- Adam Greenberg filed a final report from the Venezuelan winter league. He played for the Caribes (translation required).
