Some of you who are younger may not get the political allusion I'm making in the title to this post.
But, I have heard some talk that the Cubs may be sniffing around Trot Nixon as a possible right fielder, the idea being, I suppose, that Jacque Jones would be traded.
For those of you who think I'm not expressing enough opinions on current topics, rumors, etc., here's mine on this:
Nixon's a decent outfielder with a bit of pop and he draws a few walks (career .366 OBP). He's sort of a poor man's J. D. Drew, with a better attitude. I worry about his injury history, but as a platoon outfielder, he might be worth a shot.
