Rich Hill faces John Lackey today. Lackey is making his spring debut and will throw only about 30 pitches.

Since Mexico beat Canada 9-1 last night in the WBC, run differentials won't come into play for the US. All they have to do is beat South Africa today, and they move on to Round Two. The rest of the final eight teams are set: Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico & Cuba. Today's Puerto Rico/Cuba game will determine how those two are seeded for Round Two.

And, BCB reader Eric sent me these photos of Carlos Zambrano pitching for Venezuela in Tuesday's game.
