Hey, how about some BASEBALL discussion??

The biggest story tonight will be, of course, the weather -- it's going to be in the upper 30's or lower 40's, with a wind howling straight in, a good pitcher's night.

Today's Starting Pitchers
Sean Marshall
S. Marshall
Cubs
vs. Dontrelle Willis
D. Willis
Marlins
1-0 W-L 1-0
6.28 ERA 2.92
8 SO 15
5 BB 9
3 HR 0
vs. Fla -- vs. Cubs
Marshall's ERA drops by a run every time he starts. Hmm. If that continues, three more starts and it'll look reasonable. How's that for optimism?

Willis is only 2-2 lifetime in six starts vs. the Cubs, with a 4.64 ERA. In those six starts, he has allowed only 1 HR (none to any current Cub), and hasn't given up one to anyone yet this year. With the wind blowing in tonight, I wouldn't expect that to change. The best performances against Willis by anyone on the current roster are Michael Barrett, 4-for-12, and Jerry Hairston (who I'd expect to get the start at 2B tonight), 3-for-10.

Discuss amongst yourselves.
