Another quick night-day turnaround; thus, a brief open post for today's game, without much comment.
Because frankly, there isn't much to say. The weather's nice today.

That is really, really putrid baseball. In fact, the Cubs have performed worse over 55 games only one other time in their history -- in 1999, when they had a 55-game stretch from late July to mid-September when they were 13-42. (Technically, they had three such stretches, as you can see in the above link, and were also 14-41 for several 55-game stretches during the same time frame, but these basically just replace a loss at the beginning of the streak with a loss at the end.) There were similar bad streaks in 2000, and one in 1921.
The 1999 team lost 96 games and the 2000 team lost 93. The 1921 team would have lost over 90 in a 162-game season (they were 66-87). This team is headed there, rapidly.
