I think it's about time the Cubs beat this guy, don't you?

Before this year, Arroyo was 0-3 against the Cubs with a 7.65 ERA in his career. This year, he's 4-0, 1.26, with two home runs to boot.

Miller threw pretty well in his last start, striking out eight. Or maybe he didn't, walking four. He'll get one more start after today, and I'd think if he throws well and appears to be getting velocity back, an incentive-laden deal for 2007 wouldn't be a bad thing.

Miller has an interesting lifetime line vs. Adam Dunn: 1-for-23 with 13 strikeouts. The one hit is a home run.

Record watch: Juan Pierre broke the club record for at-bats yesterday; he now has 669, and with six games left should wind up with about 693; that number would be good for tenth on the all-time single season list. Bob Howry appeared in his 81st game yesterday; three more ties, and four more breaks, the club record.
