Someday I'll fly
Someday I'll soar
Someday I'll be something much more
Cause I'm bigger than my body gives me credit for
-- John Mayer, "Bigger Than My Body"
I went to the John Mayer show at the Charter One Pavilion last night (and if you haven't been to a show there, go -- nice venue, excellent skyline views), and that song hit me as what we're hoping to feel as Cubs fans. Someday... we'll soar. And, without any thought that I am overhyping this, today begins the Cubs' biggest series since 2004.

And yes, I am well aware that even if the Cubs can sweep it -- which is a tall order, the Brewers are a very good team -- they'd still stand 4.5 games behind.

Time to start making up that ground, this afternoon.

Today's Starting Pitchers
Rich Hill
R. Hill

vs. Yovani Gallardo
Y. Gallardo
Brewers
5-5 W-L 1-0
3.13 ERA 2.70
85 SO 12

15 HR 1
vs. Mil -- vs. Cubs
Hill split two decisions vs. the Brewers back in April -- winning 9-3 in Milwaukee on April 6, in a game in which the only hit he allowed in 7 IP was a HR to Corey Hart; and losing 4-1 at Wrigley Field a couple of weeks later.

Yovani Gallardo, a highly-touted rookie who just turned 21 in February, will be making his first-ever start away from Miller Park.

Today's game is on WGN; for those of you within the reach of FSN Wisconsin (I know you're out there!), it's there, and at the Mediacenter. A reminder, which I'll also put in tonight's recap and tomorrow morning's preview: despite what your original schedules say, tomorrow's game time has been changed to 2:55 CT to accomodate Fox-TV.
