We're gonna rock this town, rock it inside out
We're gonna rock this town, make 'm scream and shout
Let's rock, rock, rock man rock, rock
We're gonna rock till we pop, We're gonna roll till we drop
We're gonna rock this town, rock it inside out

UPDATE [2007-9-28 15:39:40 by Al]: Have arrived at my hotel in Cincinnati. Off to the GABP soon. GO CUBS!!!

Feel better now? Feel better after the Brewers looked just about as bad as the Cubs last night, losing 9-5? And wouldn't it be sweet if one of our all-time favorite Cubs, Greg Maddux, pitched his own team closer to the postseason -- and did the same for the Cubs, all on the same night?

We are going to rock Cincinnati this weekend -- tens of thousands of Cub fans, myself included, are headed toward the Queen City, with the hope, at last, of deliverance and redemption. That's why I'm opening the game thread early today -- heading out on the road shortly.

This lame attempt at humor by Chicago Tribune columnist Mary Schmich this morning has so much wrong with it I don't even know where to begin.

Meanwhile, Bruce Miles gives credit where credit's due -- to both Jim Hendry and Lou Piniella.

Just win, baby.

Dear Z: Nice game last Sunday. Do it again.

Z has righted the ship: 3-1, 2.13 in his last four starts. He's 11-4, 3.16 on the road this year. And he won't have to face either Adam Dunn or Ken Griffey Jr., both out for the rest of the season.

The Cubs have defeated Bronson Arroyo twice already this year, and beat him up pretty good at Wrigley Field eleven days ago, even though they had to come from behind that day to win in dramatic walkoff fashion. Mark DeRosa (6-for-11, a HR), Cliff Floyd (6-for-18, 2 HR) and Aramis Ramirez (7-for-25, a HR) are the Cubs who hit him best.

Today's game is cable-only in the Chicago and Cincinnati markets. Here is today's Mediacenter link.
