Iowa Manager Listach Named To Nationals' Coaching Staff

Pat Listach, who has been a manager in the Cubs' farm system for the last three years, including last year at Iowa, has been named the new third-base coach for the Washington Nationals.

Two more new Nats coaches have Cub connections. Former Cub manager Jim Riggleman will become Manny Acta's bench coach, and Marquis Grissom, who played for the Nats franchise for many years when they were the Montreal Expos and who was in Cubs spring camp in 2006, will be their first-base coach.

Congratulations to Pat Listach on his first major-league coaching assignment; he's been a top managerial prospect for quite some time, and at age 41 he's probably on the fast track to get a manager's job in the next couple of years.
