Let's start another winning streak tonight! Since the streak ended, I don't feel it necessary to go to sleep after the fourth inning; since I don't have to get up for work tomorrow, I'll try to hang in there for the entire game tonight.
You think C. C. Sabathia is going somewhere? Well, Jayson Stark thinks so, too, but not to the Cubs:
C.C. Sabathia to the Red Sox? Our spies say the Indians have "got their soldiers out, looking at other clubs with depth and prospects," just in case they decide to put their ace on the market. And one organization they've been scouting most heavily is (yep) the Red Sox. Stark also discusses the possibility that the A's might deal Joe Blanton... and then mentions MDBNIU's favorite pitcher:
So what about Rich Harden as an alternative? "He'd have to throw 160-170 innings this year and 200 next year before I'd pay the value they're looking for," said the same exec. Exactly.
The Cubs drafted a college closer, Andrew Cashner from TCU, in the first round of today's entry draft. Here's Bruce Miles' take on the pick.

The pitcher matchup part of this post is going to be short, because these two faced each other on May 26 at Wrigley Field. Billingsley pitched good. Dempster pitched better. It was the first game of the nine-game winning streak, and the only one of the streak in which the Cubs did not trail.
Now THAT sounds like the recipe for beginning a new streak. Go Cubs!
You'll have to scout around for today's game; it is on a broadcast channel in LA (KCAL), and CSN+ in Chicago. On Comcast cable that's CLTV (Channel 10) and Channel 174 for HD. For others, "check local listings" or see the MLB.com Mediacenter.
