Last year, BCB reader Louis designed a cool shirt that a lot of you liked and bought. For every shirt that was purchased, $8 went to Project 3000, the foundation started by Derrek Lee to find a cure for Leber's Congenital Amaurosis, a progressive eye disease that his daughter Jada suffers from; if a cure's not found, she will eventually go blind.
I'm happy to report that thanks to you, we donated over $1000 to Project 3000 in 2008 from this shirt sale alone, and another $900 from the original shirt sale that we handled ourselves. Louis has designed a new shirt for this year, so you can buy another one -- or if you don't have one yet, you can get your first BCB shirt.
Once again this year, Strange Cargo, located a block south of Wrigley Field at 3448 N. Clark Street, is my partner in this project. You can go into the store and get one if you're in the area, or order online from their website; shipping is only $5.
Thanks to those of you who bought shirts in the past and I hope that if you haven't, or if you want another one, or want to get someone a shirt as a gift, know that part of your purchase goes to a very worthy cause. This post will be placed on the right sidebar for the rest of the year.
