Yes, that's right: exactly 200 games from today, we will hopefully be seeing the Cubs off into another postseason appearance (38 remaining ST games, 162 regular season games).
Today, it's the first of many matchups between the division rival Brewers and Cubs (though, it's the only ST game between the two teams in Mesa this year). Yovani Gallardo takes the mound for Milwaukee, facing the Cubs for the first time since he suffered a serious knee injury in this game last May 1 at Wrigley Field. He'll be facing Sean Marshall, who's currently Lou Piniella's favorite for the fifth spot in the starting rotation. At this writing it's not clear which other pitchers will go for either team.
The game will once again be on WGN radio. If you are in southern Wisconsin, it's also on WTMJ, the Brewers flagship station, and speaking of Brewers radio broadcasters, here's a nice piece on Cory Provus, who just left WGN to join Bob Uecker on the Brewers' radio team.
If you're unable to get to any radio broadcast, here's MLB.com's Gameday, though a reminder: during spring training games, Gameday is missing some of its regular season features and is often behind. But, if you're outside radio contact, it's better than nothing.
Yesterday's overflow game thread worked well, so I'll do that again today -- post an overflow thread at 3:30 pm CST. Click on the "Game Threads" link on this post, or on the "Game Threads" section on the left sidebar, to find it.
