The Cubs made two 40-man roster moves today:
The Cubs outrighted Bobby Scales to Triple-A Iowa, taking him off the 40-man roster, along with right-hander Blake Parker.
This is likely a move to make room to return to the 40-man roster John Grabow and Angel Guzman, both of whom spent much of the year on the 60-day DL. Players on the 60-day DL don't count against the 40-man roster limit. Removing Scales and Parker leaves the 40-man roster at 38.
