Yesterday, MLB announced its Rookie of the Year awards; they went to the Giants' Buster Posey and the Rangers' Neftali Feliz, both key contributors to pennant winners.
Today, we announce the results of the SB Nation voting and ... neither one of them won our awards; both finished second in close and split votes. Jason Heyward, the preseason favorite to win the award, took the SB Nation NL vote and the Tigers' Austin Jackson won the AL award.
As has been my practice in previous years, BCB's cartoonist, Mike, received the second BCB ballot. Voting was, as in prior years, for a first, second and third place finisher and points awarded on a 5-3-1 scale. As a NL site, BCB voted for National League players only. Here are the two BCB ballots:
