The Cubs have brought back another member of the 2008 NL Central title team. Reed Johnson gets a minor league deal with a spring training invite.
Johnson, 34, did not have a great year last year with the Dodgers. He batted .262, going 53-for-202, and had 11 doubles, two home runs and 15 RBI in 102 games, but he brings experience to the team both in the outfield and with the Cubs. He continued to hit LHP, batting .301 vs. lefties. He will be vying for the fifth outfielder's position during spring training.
