Chicago Cubs vs. San Francisco Giants Game 2 Preview, Tuesday 6/28, 7:05 CT

Here's the deal. I set this game preview up before leaving for Wrigley Field this morning and scheduled it to post at 5 p.m. CDT. Therefore, I have no idea whether the first game is even over at this point -- I assume it likely is, although the last time the Cubs had a split DH this year in April against the Padres, the first game went into extra innings.

So this is really just a place for you to talk a little bit about the first game and preview game two. I'll have a complete recap of both games Wednesday morning.

Rodrigo Lopez faced the Giants four times last year while with the Diamondbacks and... well, you really don't want to know. Rumor has it that when Kerry Wood returns from the DL, Chris Carpenter will be staying. That likely means Lopez will be DFA'd or released. I'm sure he's a really nice guy and all, but years from now we'll likely be saying, "Rodrigo Lopez? He pitched for the Cubs?" Miguel Tejada, in particular, just pounds him: 11-for-23 (.478), three doubles, a HR, three walks.

Barry Zito. Well, this is interesting. Zito made three starts for the Giants early this year and then went on the DL for the first time in his career. He's just off a rehab assignment where he posted a 0.767 WHIP and 2.20 ERA in four starts split between High-A and Triple-A. He has not defeated the Cubs since 2007 and has a career ERA of 4.84 against them; Carlos Pena is 6-for-19 (.316) with two HR.

This game could go on for quite some time.

Today's second game is on CSN Chicago and CSN Bay Area. Here is the complete MLB.com Mediacenter for today.
