As they did a year ago, the Cubs have announced they are offering four-game ticket packs that you can give as a holiday gift (or, presumably, use for yourself). From a Cubs press release:
Cubs fans can once again give the gift of baseball for the holidays. Cubs Holiday Ticket Packs will be available for purchase Friday, Nov. 23, at 1O a.m. CST with package prices starting at just $98 (prior to 12 percent amusement tax and convenience fees) for two seats to four games. "The Cubs Holiday Ticket Pack is the first opportunity for Cubs fans to get tickets in their hands for the 2O13 season," said Colin Faulkner, vice president of ticket sales and service for the Chicago Cubs. "These packs are a great way to give the gift of Cubs baseball at Wrigley Field for the holiday season."
The release also mentions that you can buy up to 12 tickets per game online; if you want more than 12 you have to call the ticket office. (Somehow, I'm thinking they're not going to get too many such calls.)
If you look at the games indicated at the link above, the Cubs appear to be trying to move tickets for games that are likely to be tough sells -- all games in April, May, late August and September, most against non-marquee opponents. It'll be interesting to see how many tickets the Cubs sell via this offer. Are you going to buy any? Vote in the poll below.
