I posted this in the FanShot section, but hardly anyone noticed it, and this story is starting to get some attention in the Twitterverse, so I thought I'd move it on up to the front page. Here's all we know so far:
I've heard Mark DeRosa's name as potential Brenly replacement. Hollandsworth, Jim Deshaies, Karros, Mathews. Plesac/Sutcliffe not interested

Well. This is an interesting development. DeRosa has zero broadcasting experience (save sitting in the booth for a handful of Nationals games while he was injured), but we all know how popular he was in his two years as a Cub, both playoff seasons (2007 and 2008). Hiring him would surely be popular among the DeRomantics, and DeRo appears to be the kind of thoughtful, intelligent and knowledgeable baseball guy who would mesh well with Len Kasper.
I went on record here back in October supporting Eric Karros as Bob Brenly's replacement, but DeRosa intrigues me. I surely wouldn't be unhappy if the Cubs/WGN decided to go that way. What say you? Vote in the poll.
