SOMEWHERE IN NEW MEXICO -- I'm on the road headed back to Chicago today, so this post has been written very early Sunday morning, to be posted at 1 p.m. CDT, when I should be on the road in or around central New Mexico.
The Cubs released their lineup for today after Saturday's tie with the Angels, so here it is:
DeJesus RF, Barney 2B, Castro SS, Soriano LF, DeWitt 1B, Stewart 3B, Byrd CF, Soto DH, Clevenger C
The Angels sent most of their regulars to Anaheim after Saturday's game, in anticipation of the "Freeway Series" they play with the Dodgers in Southern California every year before the regular season begins, but you can expect at least Mark Trumbo, Kendrys Morales and Bobby Abreu to play for them this afternoon.
The Cubs are not using any of the rotation starters in the final three Cactus League games; I'm assuming they'll get their work, if any, at Fitch Park. Chris Rusin starts today against the Angels; Jered Weaver will be his opponent.
Today's game is on cubs.com with Len Kasper & Mick Gillispie. It's on MLB.TV via the Angels telecast. If you are in the Los Angeles area, it's on KLAA 830. Here is the MLB.com Mediacenter for today.
Note that for spring training gameday links, you probably will not get pitch-by-pitch as during the regular season; these are unofficial links. Each play will be posted, but might not be updated until after each half-inning.
There will be one overflow thread, which will post at 4:30 pm CT. The "Recent Stories in Game Threads" box on the sidebar is where you'll find it.
