More strange results from the 2012 season...
Against the Dodgers, Braves, Brewers and Cardinals -- teams whose combined record is 12 games over .500 -- the Cubs are 11-11. Against all other teams they are 8-26. They have not won a single game vs. the Astros, White Sox, Pirates and Giants (0-13 overall) whose combined record is seven games over .500.
Goofy, I know. Also, by Thursday the Cubs will have played 17 of their 57 games against just two teams -- the Brewers and Cardinals. I'm hoping this kind of scheduling madness will be fixed with the 15-team leagues next year, but I'm not counting on it.
Cubs lineup:
Campana CF, Castro SS, DeJesus RF, Soriano LF, LaHair 1B, Clevenger C, Barney 2B, Stewart 3B, Maholm P
Brewers lineup:

Paul Maholm got hit hard by the Brewers at Wrigley Field on April 10; he gave up six runs in four innings. The good news in that, if there is any, is that the two home runs he gave up that day (accounting for four of the six runs) were to Jonathan Lucroy and Alex Gonzalez, and both of those players are on the DL. So maybe tonight will be better.
During Tuesday night's game Len & Bob made a point of mentioning that Zack Greinke has never lost a game at Miller Park -- he's 14-0 there in 21 career appearances (20 starts). Lifetime against the Cubs, though, he's got a 5.79 ERA in four starts. That includes the pounding they gave to him April 12 at Wrigley Field, where he gave up eight runs and didn't make it out of the fourth inning. However, in two starts vs. the Cubs at Miller Park last year, he threw 14⅓ total innings and gave up just one run, with 16 strikeouts. That would call, I'd think, for a "clearly, we are doomed".
Today's game is on CSN Chicago.
