Didn't we do this yesterday? A Cubs game in St. Louis with a pitcher on the mound for our favorite team who's the subject of multiple trade rumors?
Matt Garza is either going to the Red Sox, or the Tigers, or the Yankees... or he's staying put. Truth be told, I can't really read any of these rumors. More so than in the case of Ryan Dempster, who is a free agent after this year, the Cubs might be inclined to keep Garza since he's younger and has another year of team control before free agency.
The countdown continues: 10 days until the non-waiver trade deadline. Just because the Cubs have done nothing so far, doesn't mean they'll stand pat.
This game was originally scheduled for a 3:05 p.m. CDT start, but Fox-TV (which was going to carry it) dropped it from their list, so it was moved to 6:15. If you're here at posting time (4 p.m. CDT) and wondering why the game isn't going on, that's why.

Matt Garza threw seven strong innings against the Cardinals April 23 at Wrigley Field. And the Cubs actually won the game! Current Cardinals are hitting .261 (23-for-88) against Garza, with one home run (David Freese).
Jake Westbrook has made two starts against the Cubs this year; one was very good, the other, not so much. Overall this year he's given the Cubs 16 hits and five earned runs in 12 innings, with just four strikeouts. He's allowed a home run to Bryan LaHair and overall, current Cubs are hitting .280 (37-for-132) against him.
Today's game is on WGN. This is, in fact, the only time all season that an entire three-game series -- or any three consecutive games -- are on WGN. Enjoy it while it's here.
