Iowa Cubs

The Iowa Cubs scored seven runs in the fifth inning and topped the Tuscon Padres, 12-7.

Starter Ty'Relle Harris put the I-Cubs behind 7-1 early by allowing seven runs on nine hits over four innings. He walked one and struck out two.

Marcus Hatley collected his first career Triple-A win with two scoreless innings in relief of Harris. Hatley allowed one hit and issued two walks. he struck out two.

The I-Cubs had 16 hits, 15 of which were singles. First baseman Blake Lalli had the one extra base hit, a double in a 2 for 5 evening. Lalli had one RBI and scored twice.

Second baseman Nate Samson was 3 for 5 with one run scored and one RBI. Third baseman Greg Rohan was 2 for 5 with two runs batted in. Rohan also scored once.

Right fielder Jim Adduci was 2 for 4 with a sacrifice fly. He scored two runs. Center fielder Tony Campana went 2 for 5 with a walk and a stolen base. He scored two runs. Left fielder Dave Sappelt went 2 for 6. He scored one run and had one RBI.

There was 59 minute rain delay in this game. Thanks, as every other game ended three hours earlier.

Tennessee Smokies

The Tennessee Smokies vanquished the Birmingham Barons (White Sox), 8-2.

Dallas Beeler pitched the first three innings without allowing a run. He gave up four hits and he walked two. Beeler struck out three.

Trey McNutt took the win in relief when Tennessee exploded for five runs in the top of the eighth. McNutt pitched 1.1 innings. He didn't allow a run and surrendered only one hit. McNutt walked one and struck out two.

Center fielder Jae-Hoon Ha hit his fifth home run of the season with a man on to break a scoreless tie in the sixth inning. Ha was 1 for 4 with a walk.

Shortstop Junior Lake was 2 for 5 with a double. He scored once and had two runs batted in. Left fielder Rubi Silva was 2 for 4 with a triple and an RBI.

Daytona Cubs

Rained out again. The Cubs have not played since Friday. They'll try again at Lakeland tomorrow, but there's a 40% chance of thunderstorms tomorrow night as I write this.

Peoria Chiefs

Travelling home. Last scheduled off-day of the season.

Boise Hawks

The Boise Hawks quelled the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, 5-0.

Tayler Scott was strong again tonight as he lowered his ERA to 1.88 with five innings, allowing four hits. He didn't walk anyone and struck out one as he improved his record to 5-1.

Tyler Bremer pitched three scoreless innings and Eddie Orozco finished the game with a scoreless ninth.

Center fielder Trey Martin was 2 for 2 with a successful safety squeeze in the eighth inning. Second baseman Gioskar Amaya went 2 for 4 and scored once.

First baseman Dan Vogelbach was 1 for 4 with an RBI single. Since he hit home runs in his first two at-bats on Friday, Vogelbach is 1 for 18 with two walks. You shouldn't be concerned about this. Nor should you have been excited about his seven home runs in five games earlier.
