The Mesa Solar Sox defeated the Glendale Desert Dogs 9-3 Thursday afternoon, thus clinching the Arizona Fall League's East Division title.
This means the Solar Sox -- with Cubs prospects Albert Almora, Kris Bryant, Jorge Soler and others -- will play the Surprise Saguaros in the AFL championship game, this Saturday at 2 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on MLB Network, so you'll be able to see these Cubs prospects play!
In Thursday's clinching game, Bryant went 1-for-3 with two walks and three runs scored; Soler was 2-for-5, and Almora 0-for-1 before leaving the game with what was described as a minor injury:
@CubsDen He may have tweaked something running to 1B. It doesn't look serious at all because he played another inning. No news here.

So that's good news, and hopefully all three will play in the game. I'll have a game thread posted so you can follow along. I found myself actually getting excited hearing that Mesa had won its division -- great for the players who can experience a championship game.
Congrats to the Cubs prospects and the Solar Sox!
