The Cubs released their television schedule Wednesday; here's a good way for you to gauge how many games might be missed by you if you live outside of Chicago and the Cubs switch away from WGN-TV after 2014.
There will be 67 games on WGN; CSN Chicago is carrying 80 (including those listed as CSN+), and the balance of the local schedule will be on WCIU, eight games as usual. There are currently six games scheduled for Fox on Saturday, and one for ESPN on Sunday night. Two Sunday games are listed as "TBD" -- either or both could be chosen for a Sunday ESPN telecast. If they aren't, they'll likely wind up on WGN (as shown below; the count above includes those two).
Both Opening Day and the home opener are on WGN, which is a good thing.
For the White Sox series, the games Monday at the Cell and Wednesday at Wrigley will be on WGN with the Sox announcers, so three of those four games will be available nationally, so that'll be 69 total WGN games on which you can see the Cubs. The one game listed as WCIU/ESPN will be available on ESPN outside the Chicago market.
Also of interest: June 7, June 21, July 12, August 2 and August 16. These five Friday dates are listed with a TBD starting time; the Cubs have expressed interest in making these 3:05 starts. Personally, I hope they don't.
