EN ROUTE TO THE BAY AREA -- I'm traveling today (in fact, I'm using in-flight WiFi for the first time, pretty cool); I'll be at the first two games of the series in Oakland and spending some time visiting with my dad, who lives out here.
If you are interested in buying any of the jerseys or caps worn by the Cubs in Saturday night's game, here's information for you:
#Cubs uniforms worn today will be available on #CubsAuthentics auction, starting 7/7

Looking at the Cubs online store, even the replica throwback jerseys are pretty pricey; I imagine the game-worns will be quite a bit more.
If any of you will be at the games in Oakland Tuesday or Wednesday, we can meet up; I'll tweet my seat location when I get to the Coliseum. Also, I have an extra pair of tickets for Tuesday's game; email me if interested.
The lineups were not available as I was writing this post. Please check the BCB Twitter feed for today's lineups.

Edwin Jackson... hmmm, let's check... nope. The Mariners are not one of Jackson's former teams. Current Mariners are a small-sample-size 16-for-54 (.296) against him with one home run. Jackson has shown signs of coming out of his season-long slump, but his last start was pretty bad. Perhaps pitcher-friendly Safeco will help.
Given Theo and Jed's propensity for scrap-heap pitchers, it's surprising they didn't take a flyer on Jeremy Bonderman, who had not pitched in the major leagues since 2010 before this year. Bonderman has made five starts for the Mariners, all but one in the good-to-excellent category. At 30, he'd be a much better option for the Cubs' rotation than, say, Scott Baker. (Yes, I went there.) Bonderman has never faced the Cubs; current Cubs are 7-for-26 against him.
Today's game is on CSN Chicago.

Baseball-reference.com game preview
Please visit our SB Nation Mariners site Lookout Landing.
Here's the scoop on game threads for 2013. You'll find the game preview -- like this one -- posting as the first link in the StoryStream™, which will then contain all the overflow threads and the recap. The recap will also be on the front page as a separate post; once I post a game recap, the stream for each game will be retitled "Cubs vs. (Team) (Day of Week) Game Threads" so you can go back and find every thread related to that particular game.
In general, game previews will post two hours before game time. Exception: for day games after night games, that will usually be 90 minutes.
You will also be able to find the First Pitch Thread and all the overflow threads in the box marked "Chicago Cubs Game Threads" at the bottom of the front page (you can also find them in this section link). They will also appear in this StoryStream™. As I've done for each regular-season game for several years now, we'll have the First Pitch thread at five minutes before game time (moved up from actual game time per your requests), then an overflow one hour, two hours and 2:45 after game time.
Discuss amongst yourselves.
