With the demolition of the outer bleacher walls complete, the next step in the reconstruction of the bleachers is the removal of the concrete and steel superstructure.
David Sameshima went by Wrigley Field Wednesday afternoon to scope out what was going on and to take photos, and he filed this report along with the photos:
It appears that they removed concrete from the first row or rows on the left-field side. I could see daylight coming through. There are now speed limit signs posted, as you can see in one of the photos. They added triangle-shaped concrete to the top of the traffic barricades at Kenmore -- to prevent the public from standing on them, just like on top of the walls inside the bleachers.
So far, they've been able to work even through some rainy and drizzly weather; the forecast is for improved weather over the next few days, which should make things go a bit more quickly, I'd think.
