Wrigley Field Construction Update: November 13

New, comments

Quite a bit more street utility work was going on Thursday.

Cleanup work from the demolition is nearly complete and much of the work being done Thursday afternoon was by utility crews, as BCB's David Sameshima reports.

Addison was a mess again, with traffic in both directions sharing one lane east of Sheffield. The Sheffield Ave side was busy today. Besides utility crews working on the street, workers were restoring the sidewalk where work had been done. Waveland Avenue was quiet, with equipment being refueled during my visit. A truck delivering work lights pulled up during my walk around. The semi truck in the Red Lot is being loaded up with the pipes and those white blocks.

There are some nice closeup views of the inner right-field wall now that a lot of the construction debris has been hauled away.

The work lights likely mean that they're going to be doing work right up to the 8 p.m. scheduled cutoff time; it's now dark by 5 p.m. so they'd need the lights for the last few hours of work.
