BCB's David Sameshima visited Wrigley Field on yet another sunny, but frigid, November day and filed this report on the project:
They are still doing utility work on Sheffield Avenue. They actually had to bring in a truck full of dirt to fill in the trenches. In one photo you can see the cloud of dirt, when a front loader drove down Sheffield. They were also doing work just inside the gate at Sheffield and Waveland. My view was obstructed by the guard shack, so I could not see what the front loader was doing in the intersection.Up until Friday, the marquee had been turned on, with various messages on it. As you can see, it was turned off when I was there Friday; it appears the power has been turned off. They were continuing to assemble equipment on Waveland Avenue for the upcoming construction phase of the project. There are now work lights set up on both ends of Waveland.
We'll have more photos here tomorrow.
