Wrigley Field Construction Update: November 26

New, 23 comments

There wasn't any work on the Wrigley project on Thanksgiving. These photos are from Wednesday.

BCB's David Sameshima returned to Wrigley Field Wednesday afternoon and found the construction project back in full swing. Here's his report.

I found it interesting that today, there was a lot of utility related work taking place on Sheffield -- the most work that I have seen taking place simultaneously on Sheffield. There were even trucks backed up, on the street waiting for their turn to enter the job site. There was no work taking place on Waveland during my visit. Not much activity in the triangle lot either.

It seems to me that after the publicity of the last few days surrounding the possibility that the bleachers might not be finished by Opening Night, that the Cubs wanted the construction crews (and those working on the still-unfinished water main on Sheffield) to get into high gear. They did mention that wind is one of the big reasons they couldn't work earlier this week, so hopefully they'll be able to get significant amounts of work done with somewhat better weather forecast for later this weekend and next week.

David sent descriptive photo captions for these so you get a better idea of where everything is and what's going on.
