SCOTTSDALE, Arizona -- This time, I did the right thing. With radars lighting up in all kinds of shades of green and yellow and orange and red, heading right toward Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, I decided to wait and see before heading to the ballpark.
It was the right decision:
Tonight's game cancelled. Cubs shutout 2x today by rain.

So, two full teams' worth of spring-training Cubs did not get to play Saturday, though it was reported earlier that Travis Wood got his two innings' worth of work in over at the Cubs' complex in Mesa. For Edwin Jackson, that will have to wait for another day.
It's too bad, because I was kind of looking forward to seeing Kris Bryant in his first spring start. Mike Olt and Jorge Soler were also scheduled to play in this game; they, too, will have to wait for further spring games to get their work in.
Fortunately, this appears to be it for bad weather in the Valley of the Sun for at least a week; the sun should return for Sunday afternoon's scheduled Cubs/Royals contest at Cubs Park, and temperatures are supposed to warm back into the 80s by the end of the week.
Feel free to use this thread as a game thread for the Blackhawks game. I'm headed over to the TV to watch that right now myself. Enjoy!
