Iowa Cubs

The Iowa Cubs were shut out by the Round Rock Express (Rangers), 6-0.

Carlos Pimentel threw the first six innings and to two batters in the seventh. He was charged with three runs on four hits. He walked two and struck out five. Pimentel's record fell to 1-3.

Center fielder Matt Szczur was 2 for 4. Shortstop Logan Watkins was 2 for 4 with a double.

Javier Baez was the DH in his first game off the disabled list. He went 0 for 4 with three strikeouts.

Tennessee Smokies

The Tennessee Smokies defenestrated the Birmingham Barons (White Sox), 8-3.

C.J. Edwards got his first win of the season after allowing two runs over six innings. Edwards gave up three hits. He walked two and struck out four.

Third baseman Kris Bryant was 2 for 4 with three RBI and a stolen base. Second baseman Stephen Bruno was 2 for 4 with a double and a hit by pitch. Bruno scored two runs and had one run batted in.

Right fielder Rubi Silva went 2 for 5. He scored twice and knocked two home. Left fielder John Andreoli was 1 for 3 with two walks and a stolen base. Andreoli scored two runs.

Daytona Cubs

Off for Easter. Will play at Clearwater tomorrow night.

Kane County Cougars

On the way home from Dayton. They'll play Beloit at noon tomorrow in Geneva. If you have the day off, Jen-Ho Tseng is scheduled to start for the Cougars.
