So while the Cubs were busy winning 6-1 on Tuesday night, I got to spend my evening doing this, courtesy of an award won at my daughter's school:
Oh, the things we do for our kids. It was a fun time, though, despite the insistence from both of my daughters to utter the words "Let's Go Cardinals". I think I muttered it under my breath just to satisfy them. Sorry, BCB. Won't happen again.

THE THREE HEROES:
- Superhero - Jason Hammel. Another excellent outing, albeit short.
- Hero - Um... wait a minute. John Baker? I can't be reading this thing right.
- Sidekick - Luis Valbuena. Despite not driving in a run, the 3-for-4 night with two doubles while the game was still tight made all the difference.
THE THREE GOATS:
- Big Goat - Jason Hammel. Yeah, I know; life's not fair. It's nothing personal. But when you bunt into a forceout at the plate, the WPA gods will tend to frown upon you.
- Goat - Junior Lake. A single in the eighth when the game was well in the bag didn't help the 0-for-4 that preceded it.
- Kid - Starlin Castro. Big outs early did him in, including the inning-ending groundout in the second with two runners on.

Baker triples his Hero point total with one night of work, while Hammel pulls the rare Superhero - Big Goat daily double.
