Cubs Heroes and Goats: Game 52

Boy, that escalated quickly.

The beginning of the circus that was Friday night in Milwaukee.

Mike McGinnis

I mean, that really got out of hand fast.

THE THREE GOATS:

  • Big Goat - Travis Wood. There were horses, and a man on fire, and I killed a guy with a trident.
  • Goat - Justin Ruggiano. Three opportunities with runners on in the first five innings, and nothing to show for it.
  • Kid - Welington Castillo. Also had several chances with runners in scoring position and also came up empty.

THE THREE HEROES:

  • Superhero - Luis Valbuena. All courtesy of his ground-rule double in the third.
  • Hero - Mike Olt. See, it pays to bat eighth.
  • Sidekick - Uh... Travis Wood. Oh, I get it. His bad outing was all part of his master plan to make his base hit stick. Well played, sir. Well played.
