Then again, with the Cubs only mustering up five hits against Alfredo Simon, an encore of his debut performance may not have mattered.

Writer's Note: The daily selections of the three Heroes and three Goats are based solely on the top three and bottom three WPA scores for the game. The selections are not based on my subjective opinion.
THE THREE HEROES:
- Superhero - Anthony Rizzo (.135). The lone bright spot. Oh, and #VoteRizzo.
- Hero - Welington Castillo (.053). Is it just me, or have half of the Cubs' hits with runners in scoring position this series not scored a run? Anyway, Castillo added another one to the pile.
- Sidekick (tie) - Wesley Wright and Ryan Sweeney (.014). Sweeney has to be a little content that Mike Olt pinch-hit for him in the ninth to preserve his podium spot.
THE THREE GOATS:
- Billy Goat - Dallas Beeler (-.248). Started out all right, and went downhill in a real hurry. Sounds a bit like Edwin Jackson.
- Goat - Chris Coghlan (-.111). Maybe he was just tired from running the bases so much on Tuesday.
- Billy Goat - Dallas Beeler, the hitter (-.102). Couldn't get the bunt down when it counted.
UPDATED RANKINGS THROUGH GAME 90 (Changes in Bold, Notations Below):
x - Player not on 25-man roster.
y - Player not on 40-man roster.
z - Player no longer with Cubs.

Rizzo climbs back to within one point of Castro on the Hero chart, while Beeler pulls off the infamous Goat Daily Double.
