Just one minor league game tonight.
In any case, I did a Q&A with the SBNation Indiana University Blog The Crimson Quarry on Kyle Schwarber. Check it out if you are so inclined.
Boise Hawks
The Boise Hawks beat the Spokane Indians (Rangers), 4-3 in ten innings.
Hawks starter Erick Leal pitched six innings and was pretty terrific, giving up only one run on two hits. He struck out five and walked nobody.
Sam Wilson came within one pitch of getting the save in the top of the ninth, but a wild pitch allowed the tying run to score. He stayed in the game, pitched a perfect tenth inning and got the win. Wilson threw two innings and allowed one run on one hit. He waled two and struck out five.
Right fielder Jeffrey Baez hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the tenth inning, scoring shortstop Chesny Young. Baez was 3 for 6. His hit streak is now 18 games.
Young was 2 for 3 with two walks and two runs scored.
Center fielder Rashad Crawford extended his hitting streak to 15 games by going 2 for 5.
Catcher Mark Malave was 2 for 4 with a walk and a two-run double in the sixth inning.
Left fielder Charles White gave Boise the lead in the bottom of the eighth with a perfectly executed suicide squeeze, which he then beat out for a hit. White was 1 for 4 with a walk.
