The Kane County Cougars shut out the Lake County Captains (Indians), 6-0 to win game two of the Midwest League Championship Series.

Duane Underwood may have had a few control issues, but he was unhittable for six shutout innings. Underwood did not allow a hit tonight, although he did walk five batters. Underwood struck out eight.

Tyler Ihrig retired the Captains in order in the seventh inning, but the first two hitters of the eighth both singled to break up the no-hitter. But despite a wild pitch that put runners at second and third with two outs, Ihrig got out of the eighth without allowing a run. He then finished the ninth inning for the three-inning save.

The final line for Ihrig was three innings, allowing no runs on two hits. He struck out four and walked no one, although he did hit a batter in the ninth inning. He ended the game with a 5-4-3 double play.

Left fielder Shawon Dunston continued to bedevil the Captains tonight. He was 2 for 3 with a walk and a sacrifice fly. He stole two bases, scored twice and had the one RBI. He led off the third inning with a bunt single which led to a three-run inning which was more than the Cougars needed tonight.

DH Mark Zagunis was 3 for 5 with a double and a run scored. He also stole a base.

The Cougar now travel to Lake County, needing to win just one of the next three games to win their first Midwest League title since 2001.The Cougars' Daury Torrez will face the Captains' Anderson Polanco in game three on Saturday night.

The Cougars have now won all six postseason games they have played so far this season.

If you want to see the team of on their bus trip, go to Fifth Third Ballpark in Geneva tomorrow morning at 10:45.

Obviously, there will be no Minor League Wrap tomorrow night as there are no games. Hopefully, Saturday's Wrap will be the final one of the season.
