American League Championship Series Game 3: Blue Jays vs. Royals, Monday 10/19, 7:07 CT

The Jays are in the same spot the Cubs are. Can they come back?

John E. Sokolowski-USA TODAY Sports

The Blue Jays did exactly what the Cubs did in their League Championship Series -- lost the first two games on the road.

Of course, they did it in a bit more soul-crushing fashion, as they had a lead in the seventh inning of Game 2, only to have some sketchy fielding and hard hits by the Royals turn into a five-run inning.

Still, they will be at home in front of a full house this evening with the roof closed at Rogers Centre. I can only imagine how loud the place will be.

Marcus Stroman, who missed much of this season but was lights-out in four September starts and good in two outings in the Jays' division-series win over the Rangers, will start for Toronto.

Johnny Cueto, who had a rough go of it in the regular season after the Royals acquired him from the Reds but who came up big for K.C. in the deciding fifth game of the division series vs. the Astros, gets the call for Kansas City.

The game is on FS1. Announcers: Joe Buck, Harold Reynolds and Tom Verducci.
