You know what's at stake here, I don't think I need to keep reminding you. More information on this entire series is in the series preview, if you have not yet seen it.
I would expect the crowds all weekend to be almost majority Cubs fans, as the Brewers have had a horrid year, and for any Cubs fans who can't get playoff tickets, this would be their last chance to see the club in person.
Here are today's particulars.
Cubs lineup:
Fowler CF, Schwarber RF, Bryant LF, Rizzo 1B, Castro 2B, Montero C, Russell SS, Arrieta P, La Stella 3B

Looks like Joe Maddon is trying to get Kris Bryant and Kyle Schwarber as much time in different outfield positions as possible.
Brewers lineup:
Gennett 2B, Schafer CF, Lind 1B, Davis LF, Santana RF, Segura SS, Perez 3B, Ashley C, Peña P

The last time Jake Arrieta faced the Brewers, September 22 at Wrigley Field, Scooter Gennett led off the game with a single.
Well, that just made Jake mad. (DO NOT ANGER JAKE ARRIETA!) He retired the next 14 hitters he faced, gave up two more hits (one a double to Gennett) and wound up throwing a three-hit complete-game shutout with 11 strikeouts.
One more just like that one, please, Jake. (Although, it doesn't have to be a CG -- perhaps 80-90 pitches will be enough, in anticipation of next Wednesday.)
Ariel Peña has made five appearances (four starts, one relief outing) for the Brewers this month. He's pitched all right, but not gotten past five innings in any of the starts and has walked 12 in 23 innings. That should be red meat for the Cubs hitters, who are very, very patient. Pena has never faced the Cubs or anyone on the current Cubs roster.
Today's game is on CSN Chicago.

The 2015 Game Thread procedure has changed a bit. Here's how it will work going forward.
You'll find the game preview posted separately on the front page, two hours before game time (90 minutes for some early day games following night games).
At the same time, a StoryStream™ containing the preview will also post on the front page. The First Pitch Thread and all the overflow threads will be published in that stream, as well as the recap. The recap will also live on the front page as a separate post, and at the time I write the recap I will rename the stream "Cubs vs. (Team) (Day of Week) Game Threads" so you can go back and find every thread related to that particular game.
You will also be able to find the preview, First Pitch Thread, all the overflow threads and recap in the box marked "Chicago Cubs Game Threads" at the bottom of the front page (you can also find them in this section link). They will also appear in the game's StoryStream™ as noted above.
The First Pitch thread will post at five minutes before game time, then an overflow thread at one hour, two hours and 2:45 after the scheduled game time.
Discuss amongst yourselves.
