All I can think of to say is this: This has probably been the most amazing regular season I can ever remember in my years as a Cub fan. I don't go back as far as some others here do in my fandom, but I go back to the late 1970s for my starting point. Even if Wednesday ends up being the final game of 2015 for the Cubs -- and I really, really hope that it doesn't -- it's been one heck of a ride.
But heck with that one-and-done stuff. Let's get the job done in Pittsburgh and have some fun against the Cardinals.

Writer's Note: The daily selections of the three Heroes and three Goats are based solely on the top three and bottom three WPA scores for the game. The selections are not based on my subjective opinion.
THE THREE HEROES:
- Superhero - Dan Haren (.235). If that was the final outing of his career -- and it looks like it was -- it was a great way to go out.
- Hero - Kris Bryant (.101). He's gotta be the Rookie of the Year. It just has to be.
- Sidekick - Anthony Rizzo (.091). It's only fitting that he ends the regular season on the Hero podium after posting an amazing final mark of plus-65.5. He may not end up winning the Most Valuable Player for the National League, but he gets my vote for the Cubs' MVP if nothing else.
THE THREE GOATS: And in the final game of the regular season, there's one last bump on the Goat podium as Haren's -.065 hitting is moved out. In total there were 45 bumps this season, 41 from the Goats. The final pitching totals will be listed below.
- Billy Goat - Starlin Castro (-.105). It was still a great second half, but on the final day of the season he slips back into the basement.
- Goat - Addison Russell (-.077). He also ended up not faring that well on the chart, finishing third from the bottom, but man is that kid going to be a monster.
- Kid - Chris Denorfia (-.020). I'll still always remember his walk-off single that led to Rizzo picking him up and carrying him on the field Superman-style.
