The Cubs will play two games in the late afternoon/early evening in St. Louis if they win the wild-card game against the Pirates Wednesday night in Pittsburgh.
This is according to a press release from Major League Baseball, which announced Monday afternoon that Game 1 of the division series involving the Cardinals in St. Louis will begin at 5:45 p.m. CT Friday, October 9, and Game 2 of that series will begin at 4:37 p.m. CT Saturday, October 10.
This could mean some shadows on parts of the field during the game, particularly the Saturday game, if it's sunny those days in St. Louis. Here are the rest of the division series times through Sunday, October 11:
If you're like me and have plans to attend the games in St. Louis if the Cubs win Wednesday, now you know when you'll have to be there. Game times for Game 3 (and a possible Game 4) at Wrigley Field Monday, October 12 and Tuesday, October 13 will be set later, as they depend in part on results of the other series.
